P.S: I'm always really grateful for the kind words and advice the community provides freely out of their own will, and I almost feel bad for seemingly always asking so much and not being able to return the favor. The rest of the settings each for streaming and recording are much appreciated with as much details as possible:)Įx.) fast/faster profile, CBR/VBR, bitrates, keyframe interval, B-frames, async depth, two-pass encoding. Which encoders should I each use for streaming and recording? (or simply which one if you recommend that I use the same encoder for both)
Is it actually worth it to set different encoders for simultaneously streaming and recording? In other words, will the separately set encoders work in such way that the work is divided, or will it have little to no difference or even perhaps even worse? I know people have different settings as to what they think is best but I would still be very much interested in hearing them out, with the following point of interests as main focus.Īmong x264, Quicksync, and NVENC based on my specs, which encoder would perform better or be more efficient? But if you have any reasons you'd advise me not to and just stick to one platform for streaming, I'm all ears :) Platform: I currently use Restream to stream to Twitch and Youtube for that extra potential exposure since I'm just starting out and really small. Goals: Lower quality for stream (for the benefit of less lag/buffering) but much higher quality for recording (for crisp and quality video to upload to Youtube later) Purpose: Stream & Record games (simultaneously)
I hope/plan to upgrade my specs as soon as possible but in the meantime, I need the community's help.) (I know my specs are quite outdated, especially considering my purpose of simultaneously streaming & recording. Let me first lay out my specs and purposes.
